We partner with local churches to mobilize a growing wave of disciple makers and pioneer leaders.
What We Do
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” It's been over two millennia since Jesus uttered these famous words, but the challenge remains the same. Where will we find the workers to make disciples and pioneer new faith communities across North America?
The answer is found in the hundreds of thousands of potential workers sitting in congregations across North America, and this is where Groundswell can help. Through customized online courses, coaching, and resources like Banding Together and Mobilizing Disciple Makers, we partner with pastors and leaders to mobilize the church to make disciples.
We've also developed a free, customized assessment called Live Sent to help lay leaders discover their missional calling and pioneer new outreach ministries, nonprofits, or expressions of church. Over the last few years, hundreds of lay leaders have embraced their calling to launch something new. Mobilizing Pioneer Leaders is another valuable resource for pastors and leaders seeking to identify and activate these pioneers.
More recently, God has been expanding my vision for disciple-making beyond the walls of the local church and into our nation's jails and prisons. I believe some of the greatest opportunities for developing disciple makers are found among those who are incarcerated.
Alongside my work with Groundswell, I serve as Director of Prison Theological Education at Wesley Seminary, helping equip incarcerated men through theological education and spiritual formation. Whether in our neighborhoods, communities, or correctional facilities, the calling remains the same: to make disciples who make disciples.
